General Rules
These rules must be followed by everyone communicating in the shoutbox/chat, both staff and members. Learn it, Memorize it, FOLLOW it; Or refrain from using the shoutbox/chat.
- When in doubt, just AVOID the chat!
- You aren't required to say anything.
- Avoid controversial topics.
- Such as Religion/Politics/Orientation
- No Cursing, whatsoever.
- Not even if you *** it out.
- No words that can be taken as cursing.
- No Racial or Sexual comments.
- Or anything that could be taken as such.
- No Derogatory comments about anyone.
- No matter how vague.
- Do not Flame or Bash.
- Or use such words at/against other members.
- Ex: Stupid, Idiot, Retard, Moron, Gay, Fag, Etc.
- Do not bring up or discuss Sexuality/Orientation.
- It doesn't matter in the chat. Even in discussions about characters, it is better left out from the chat.
- If you are hurt/insulted, DO NOT RETALIATE.
- Contact a staff member right away.
- If you are staff, have a different Staff member handle it if possible.
- If you are asked to end a topic/discussion, DO SO.
- This applies no matter who is asking.
- You may bring it up with staff if you disagree
- No advertising- unless you are an active member.
- This means that you post and RP a lot & are not new.
- Only one advertisement a WEEK; no annoying people.
- You may share art or things you find interesting.
- No SPAM; Try to put complete thoughts in your shouts.
- Don't make a habit of posting useless messages.
- If your shouts become annoying, you will be warned.
- Smiley wars are allowed on rare occasions
- If asked to stop, it must stop; simple as that
These are the rules for regular members. These don't apply to staff.
- Be civil and courteous.
- Even if others are not.
- Listen to the staff.
- PM James or another staff member if there a problem.
- Accept Warnings calmly.
- If you believe it is wrong, let James know.
- If you do not comply, you will be banned.
These are the rules that apply to staff members. If they are not followed, staff privileges will be removed and they will possibly be banned to boot.
- Be civil and courteous.
- Even if others are not.
- This is more vital for staff than for normal members.
- If an issue directly involves you, let other staff handle it when possible.
- If this is not an option, deal with it very carefully.
- Always PM James or another staff member about it.
- A Warning must be given before a Ban.
- In extreme cases, this is not necessary.
- Only one warning required!
- Give no more than three warnings per issue.
- Only delete SPAM or Rude/Crude Messages.
- This mostly goes for guests' shouts.
- Naturally, no warning is needed for vile guests.
- Do not start or continue arguments.
- They are not needed.
- If it comes to it, the chat can be disabled.
- Being staff does not mean you are above the rules.
- When using your staff powers to Warn/Ban/Etc. be civil.
- There is no reason to be mean about it.
- Be kind and calm, even if it hurts.
- There is no need to advertise your staff position.
- Make sure you are logged in as staff before giving warnings.
- Do not say "I am staff and can ban you!"
- This thread should make it obvious that you can and will ban as necessary.
- Listen to your fellow staff members.
- Whether they warn you or ask you to stop something.
- If you have an issue with it, take it up with James or ask them about it privately.
- Being staff, you get two warnings.
- After that, go directly to James.
- James can and will enforce the rules as necessary.
- James has the final say in everything as he created the PMDSC universe.
- If you disagree with James, please feel free to bring it up with James.
- James promises to listen, that does not mean James will always agree.
